Twin Cities Fragathon 2 - Electric Fragaloo
Saturday Apr 17, 5:00 PM
We're a group of people interested in making games using Microsoft's XNA Framework. Whether you're looking to make Windows games, XBOX Live Indie Games or Zune HD games, this is the group for you. It doesn't matter if you're a programming god or a total newbie, everyone is welcome to join in.
You'll get invited to our Meetups as soon as they're scheduled!
"I'm Justin, a recent graduate with a degree in Computer Science. I've been interested in game design for a long time. I'm familiar with most programming concepts but have not worked in a professional setting...."
"3D modeler looking to break into the gaming industry. Love XBL games (Castle Crashers, Geometry Wars) and would love to help create something great!"
"Go here, read this: http://bit.ly/bzWlHM... Discuss. :)"
"I would have to say I'm still fairly new to the game development industry. I went to school for game development but that was more for the piece of paper stating I knew what I was talking about...."
"Hey gents, The reason I'm here is because I'm interested in writing games, finishing them, getting them shipped and selling them. ... MoreThe types of games I'm interested in currently are typically old-school shoot-em-ups, either scrolling shooters or Gauntlet-like dungeonhack shooters. I think that these games can be done with a fairly quick turnaround. The tools and knowledge we have now are orders of magnitude beyond what was available when these types of games were being pioneered. Distribution systems have also never been easier to use. Noninteractive real-time rendered backgrounds should be fairly easy, even with lighting by in-game objects. Even a few shaders for things like water, mirrors, specular lighting and the like. All a fair bit of work but also a standard, well-delineated path. What's the market like for shooters and similar titles on XBLA? "

This group doesn't have any past Meetups, yet.
