This hackathon weekend is the first of a series of events hosted by Age UK to mark the completion of a research project looking at helping people stay independent for longer.

Friday Evening Reception, 21st March, 5.30pm – 10pm

OXO2, Level 2 OXO Tower Wharf, Bargehouse Street, South Bank, London, SE1 9PH

The Hackathon kicks off with launch event on the Friday evening at OXO Tower (not at Facebook). Here, we will welcome all delegates, VIPs and headline sponsors to celebrate the commencement of our events series. During this time, your role as a UX expert will be to take part in interviewing older users who will be present and gain a deeper understanding of the findings of the research project. The Hackathon teams will be comprised of developers, UX, service design and business experts.

Saturday 22nd March, 9am start – Sunday 23rd March, 5pm finish (overnight stay optional)

With the support of the service design agency Fjord, Saturday morning will begin with a series of creative workshops before the Hacking begins. At the end of the Hackathon, delegates will attend the presentation, drinks reception, judging and awards ceremony.
