Founded to provide an affirming environment for individuals who are committed to a Universalist approach to spirituality, encompassing all faiths and all traditions, and who wish to express their spirituality in a universal tradition without dogma.

We are an independent community founded by Rev. Ed Geraty. We meet weekly for discussion and exploration of Consciousness, Awareness, or Enlightenment. We are an awakening community, meaning that we are aware that we are more than our personal Ego-self.
Some of our meetings focus on Non Dual spirituality. We have a monthly movie night with movies based on Consciousness exploration. We also hold Kirtans (Bhakti Yoga) and weekly Insight Meditation sittings. Join us.

This meeting at the Insight Center will discuss the Secular (non-religious) Buddhist view of Buddhism. Secular Buddhism is a modern, non-dogmatic non-religious approach to the teachings of the historical Buddha. It focuses on practical, ethical, and psychological practices for human well-being while discarding supernatural, metaphysical, and religious beliefs like rebirth and karma..
Each meeting will discuss the principles found on our website, www.shingyosb.com, and an Insight meditation sitting. All are welcome. You don't have to subscribe to Buddhism to join us.
