May 24th - Save the date for Meetup #2 with The Street Plans Collaborative

Hey everyone,

It was great to have many of you at the 1st meetup with Project for Public Spaces (PPS). Just to recap for those who weren't able to attend, we had PPS host us at their office for a fascinating discussion on Placemaking. Ideas were already abuzz by the end of the event, and we have yet to determine a platform for sharing ideas between members- thoughts are welcome!

Our 2nd meetup will take place next Thursday evening, May 24th with Mike Lydon, principal of The Street Plans Collaborative, which is an urban planning and design firm focused on improving the public realm and increasing mobility opportunities. He'll be speaking with us about Tactical Urbanism (essentially a method of planning that involves first step approaches that evolve into long-term implementable solutions) and The Open Streets Project - which he just presented at the Congress for New Urbanism's latest conference in Florida, CNU 20.

A short article about his presentation at CNU 20:

And you can check out the awesome work of The Street Plans Collaborative here:

I will send an official invite shortly.

Looking forward to seeing you all there!

Best,

Leemor
