The Lesson Of ObamaCare: Government Health Care Equals Hardship And Death
Americans are starting to wake up to the fact that government controlled health care is a nightmare that equals hardship and, in many cases, death.
Where ever government health care has been enacted, in Europe, Canada, anywhere, it has led to rationed and substandard care, misery and often death. People from all over the world come to America for their health care because in our free society innovations have brought our citizens the greatest medical advances on Earth.
In 2008, then Senator Barack Obama crisscrossed the country telling Americans that the health care system was broken, even though 85% of people liked the health care coverage they had. You see, this is what leftists do, they make up a crisis, they repeat the narrative over and over again, and then expand upon it to advance their socialist agenda.
Obama went on to tell Americans about his utopian solution to the broken system that wouldn’t cost middle class citizens one dime. He had a plan that would insure everyone, would give families more choices, would lower their insurance premiums by $2,500 and that they need not worry as his plan wouldn’t affect them because he promised that “If you like your plan, you can keep your plan, period. No one is going to take that away from you, no matter what.”
Now, millions of Americans are waking up to the reality that government controlled health care is a nightmare. Americans had to see written cancellation notices arrive in their mail boxes and talk to insurance specialists and their doctors to find out the truth, that the so called extremists' and hostage takers' warnings were true and that the hope and change messiah’s promises of utopia were total fallacies.
Now Obama the charlatan has been exposed for who he really is and the effects of ObamaCare are coming to life in real examples of tragedy. Here are just two of the many stories of Americans who face death because of the realities of Obama’s utopian health care achievement, The Patient Protection And Affordable Care Act.
South Carolinian, Bill Elliot had a health care plan that paid for the treatment he was receiving for cancer. Bill said: “I liked my doctor, I loved my insurance. It was paying just about everything including medications and medical devices.” Bill’s insurance also covered his MRIs and his premium was $180 a month.
Like millions of Americans, Bill received a cancellation notice in the mail from his insurance company because of ObamaCare.
Bill went to an insurance agent who looked for a new company that would take him on. The agent found that Bill’s insurance premium on his new plan would be $1,500 a month, over $15,000 more a year than his old plan, and pharmaceuticals as well as medical devices would not be covered. Each MRI under the new plan would have an out of pocket cost of $3,000.
Bill has decided that he will pay the $95 ObamaCare penalty and not get insurance because as he sees it “I won’t put a burden on my family and let nature take its course.”
Bill feels especially betrayed because he believed in and voted for Barack Obama.
Here’s another story of hardship caused by Obama’s utopian vision.
In a weekly Republican address, Representative Todd Young from Indiana told a heart breaking story about two of his constituents, Alan and Laura from Jeffersonville, Indiana. For eight years, Alan’s wife Laura has been battling cancer. She was getting insurance through Indiana’s high-risk pool, which is being dissolved because ObamaCare.
After 25 days of trying to get on the ObamaCare exchange web site, Alan finally found out that only one company currently offers insurance for them.
The insurance coverage the company offers won't cover Laura's current doctors. It will cost Alan and Laura an addition $20,000 a year in out of pocket expenses under the new coverage in order for Laura to keep her doctors.
Like Bill from South Carolina, Alan says his family has been left with two choices: “one, end her treatment or two, go broke.”
America is learning a heart wrenching lesson that socialized medicine equals hardship and death. But, thank God that our founding fathers in their infinite wisdom gave us a Constitutional Republic, where We The People have the freedom to speak our minds, a Republic with two houses of the legislature, where the representatives in these houses are responsible to We The People.
You see, to people like Obama the corner stone of our Republic, the Constitution, is the enemy, an enemy Obama described in 2001 as having “constraints” and being “outdated.” Yes, the Constitution puts constraints on tyranny and the fact that it puts these constraints on people like Obama proves that the Constitution is as relevant today as it was when it was conceived by our founding fathers 237 years ago. And to We The People, unlike Obama, the Constitution is the greatest document ever conceived by man, a document that empowers Americans to save ourselves from the tyranny, hardship and death of Obama’s signature achievement: forced socialized medicine.
