Details

Note, this meetup occurs on the second Thursday of the month , Dec. 11th.

Also Q has moved to the building next door, 6100 Center Drive, Ste. 660 (the Pepperdine Building).

About the Presentation:

Everyone knows about networking. The Linux kernel provides a wide range of networking and other services, most of which are not generally known. In fact, a lot of what "everyone knows" is wrong or is lacking in detail. In this talk John Mitchell will give a technical survey of what's available and how to use it to accomplish magic tricks. With the right knowledge, our software can do great things without much code!

About the Location:

PARKING: Plentiful parking is available at the Howard Hughes Promenade
across the street for $3, (sorry fiat currency only). Avoid the parking
structure behind 6080 Center Drive - it's crazy expensive and they don't except bit coin either.

Special thanks to Carolyn Oswald at Q for hosting this presentation.

About UUASC:

The UUASC (http://uuasc.org (http://uuasc.org/)) is for all persons using UNIX either personally or professionally, or interested in learning more about UNIX. We recognize all varieties of UNIX, including (without prejudice) SCO, Linux, SVr4, Solaris, AIX, HP/UX, and BSD. This is a good place to meet others with similar interests and broaden your skills and knowledge.

We try to meet on the first Thursday of the month in L.A.

Both UUASC chapters are open to everyone; there is no separate membership, we would like you to join our general mailing list so that you can particpate in the conversation between meetings.

Date and Locaton Subject to Change:

Note that meet up dates and locations can change on short notice, always check the meet up site to see if the information has changed.
