The QUEER CHEVRUTA is a group of gay, lesbian, bisexual, straight and transgendered people with a common interest in liberal, progressive, Judaism. We are open to newcomers as well as seasoned students -- and everyone in between. We meet every Thursday evening from 6:30 to 9:00 pm. In this Chevruta, limited to 10 participants, we will read aloud and discuss the late Tikva Frymer-Kensky's 2002 book: Reading the Women of the Bible: A New Interpretation of Their Stories.

A group of no more than 10 of us will read aloud and simultaneously discuss Tikva Frymer Kensky's 2002 book, "Reading the Women of the Bible: A New Interpretation of Their Stories." Men-- perhaps even more than women -- can and should learn much from it, both about the Hebrew Scriptures and the women in it.

“I consider myself an ally of the LGBTQ community, and I am interested in finding a progressive group to do chevruta with. I'm a beginner at Jewish learning and I would like to get off on the right foot!”
