Please join us for an evening of spirited UX design discussion!
We will be holding a discussion at Kent State University on Wednesday, March 20th (6pm-8pm). The meeting will focus on the evaluation of one or more prominent interfaces from a user experience designer’s perspective. This will not be a traditional talk; instead we will jointly conduct a "cognitive walk through" of the interface(s) as a group. (Also giving us an opportunity to discuss the pros and cons of this evaluation method.) Feel free to make suggestions for us to critique (websites, operating systems, etc.) as a group before the meet up or during!
The primary interface that will be evaluated by the group is the Windows 8 operating system, which has been designed specifically around a touch-screen model. We will explore how the user is able to, or unable to, interact with this new OS, in both the a touch-screen and traditional monitor context. Depending on the interests of the group, we may also opt to compare/contrast this user experience with other operating systems.
Note: You do not need to have explored the Windows8 OS prior to the meeting to benefit from this meeting!
Please join us on Wednesday, March 20 from 6pm-8pm
