Free UX Careers Panel

  • Jun 23, 2014 · 6:00 PM

Ever wondered what a UX designer actually does? Or how one goes about becoming a UX designer? What courses are necessary? Do you need a portfolio to get a UX job? What would that look like? What skills set you apart when applying for UX jobs? And where can a career in User Experience take you?

In this panel, four senior UX designers will discuss how they got started, what a day looks like for them, and offer tips and answer questions from anyone looking to get started in this exciting field.

Panelists:

• Matthew Magain, UX Mastery (moderator)

• Luke Chambers, UX Mastery

• Ben Rowe, Thirst Studios

• Jamie Chin, Symplicit

After the panel discussion is over, feel free to stick around, ask our panelists questions, and network with other UXers.

Really interesting, relevant topics. As a recruiter (one of the 5% Ben ☺) the insights into how to advise more junior talent as to how get in to UX was great. I am looking forward to future careers meetups.

Actually Mohammad, we did have a videographer recording this event, and we do plan on making the recording available. We'll let you know when it's online.

The panel did a great job explaining things in detail and yet an easy to understand manner. Well organised UX Mastery! And great sketch noting.

Hi Team, i am just new to UX and worked with print media for more than 5 yrs, I have a bit knowledge of web but wants to know more about UX as well as web and i feel it is difficult to study further with any live or dummy project. Please guide me on the same.

Just realised that the image listed the date as "March 23". Obviously it's June 23. Always has been. Apologies for the confusion. Hope to see you there!
