We often talk of collaborating with users and getting them to help in the design of a product.
But the reality is this often doesn't happen. At best we get to bring them in on the validation process.
This is especially true of an externally facing project. Very rarely on the design and open ended research components of the process do we get any customers or users involved.
In this session we look in detail at the collaborative process and a series of techniques that can be used to bring external people together (beyond the focus group) and get meaningful results.
There are a number of good chapters in various books that discuss this topic but none really very deeply.
This topic also brings in elements of Participatory Design and Social Design.
This was a great meetup.
It was great to work through the collaborative design studio exercise and see so many new faces :)
Thanks Gary!
