Agenda

6:00pm: Socializing & hanging out

6:30pm: Book discussion

8:00pm (approx.): More socializing & finishing the beer off

At our July meetup, we'll be discussing “Articulating Design Decisions: Communicate with Stakeholders, Keep Your Sanity, and Deliver the Best User Experience (http://shop.oreilly.com/product/0636920037422.do)” by Tom Greever.

“Every designer has had to justify designs to non-designers, yet most lack the ability to explain themselves in a way that is compelling and fosters agreement. The ability to effectively articulate design decisions is critical to the success of a project, because the most articulate person often wins.

This practical book provides principles, tactics, and actionable methods for talking about designs with executives, managers, developers, marketers, and other stakeholders who have influence over the project with the goal of winning them over and creating the best user experience.”

You do not need to read the book to attend and participate in the conversation. Everyone is welcome to discuss the topic and share personal experiences, even if you're not familiar with the reading material.

Note: The book is only available on O'Reilly (http://shop.oreilly.com/product/0636920037422.do) because it's an early release. Get 50% off with the code WCYAZ!

FUTURE STUFF ~

You can vote for the September book selection here (TBD). Polls will be open until August 7th.

We're looking for space for next month's August meetup! Reach out to Christina (durbin@viachristina.com) if you'd like to volunteer space for the group to meet.
