Odessa DevOps Meetup #1

Details
• Immutable Infrastructure: Pros and Cons.
Dmitry Karanfilov, DevOps Team Lead @ Ciklum/RR Donnelley
Immutable Infrastructure is a pattern or strategy for managing services in which infrastructure is divided into “data” and “everything else”. “Everything else” components are replaced at every deployment, with changes made only by modifying a versioned definition, rather than being updated in-place.
In this session Dmitry is going to share his real experience in the developing and supporting of the Immutable Infrastructure and describe pros and cons of this strategy.
• ELK stack: The silver bullet to work with logs for distributed apps.
Alexey Timchenko, DevOps Engineer @ Ciklum/RR Donneley
By combining the massively popular Elasticsearch, Logstash and Kibana, Elasticsearch Inc has created an end-to-end stack that delivers actionable insights in real time from almost any type of structured and unstructured data source. Built and supported by the engineers behind each of these open source products, the Elasticsearch ELK stack makes searching and analyzing data easier than ever before.
In this session Alexey is going to share his real experience in the ELK implementation for distributed, cloud-based application and describe problems which were solved by leveraging the ELK.
