Another Introductory Ukulele Course! 6 Classes Commencing Mon 18-MAY-09

From: Steve M.
Sent on: Sunday, May 3, 2009 5:31 PM
Yes, we are putting on another six week beginners ukulele course! It's free apart from a $3/class fee to cover venue hire, materials etc.

WHAT: Ukulele for Beginners
WHEN:[masked]pm (60 minutes) on Monday nights (except for Tue 9 June)
commencing 18 May - 22 June 2009.
WHERE: Queenbeyan Community Centre, Crawford St, Queanbeyan -
opposite Queanbeyan Council Chambers - there's plenty of free parking.
PRESENTER: John Nevard
COST: $3/class

Once again the course is intended for absolute beginners, particularly those who have not played a stringed instrument before. The pace of the lessons will be deliberately slow. That being said, recent beginners who want to refresh their basic technique, are also welcome to attend.

The aim: on completing the course, participants will have good basic technique, which will make it easier to improve, and be able to play along confidently with songs in basic chords.

If you are interested, or have any friends/relatives that would like to attend, please register/RSVP via our website's 18-MAY-09 Calendar entry for the course.

1. To register you must be able to:
a. come along to the first class[masked] on 18 May
b. be able to commit to attend at least 5 of the 6 nights.

2. You'll need to bring:
a. a ukulele - you can start with a $25 Mahalo if you like or something else after reading
b. a folder with 20 or so plastic sleeves

3. While not essential, if you have any of the following, bring them along:
a. music stand
b. a copy of Mike Jackson's Uke'n'Play Ukulele - Omnibus Edition
c. digital chromatic tuner

If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to contact John on[masked] or[masked]-318.
