TROPFEST 2013 @ The Domain

Tropfest is Australia’s most prestigious short film festival and one of its most iconic cultural events. It is also the largest short film festival in the world.

Tropfest films are unique in that they have all been made specifically for Tropfest, will premiere at Tropfest and include the Tropfest Signature Item (or TSI), which changes each year. The TSI for the 2013 festival is “BALLOON”.

What time do I need to get there?

We will be meeting at the Sydney Hospital fountain at 3:00 pm (the hospital is located on Macquarie Street, directly opposite the top of Martin Place, the fountain is inside the hospital grounds opposite the café).

If you can't make it until later on in the day keep an eye out on the MeetUp page as our location in the Domain will be updated.

The program:

Trop Jr, the competition for filmmakers aged 15 and under kicks off at noon. If you wish to get there early to check it out – you are more than welcome to J

The main festival program will start at 6:00 pm with red carpet arrivals and the films will start at approximately 7:30 pm.

How do I get there?

Tropfest is located at The Domain and is easy to get to by either train or bus. The Domain Park is only a short stroll from either St James or Martin Place train station.

Is there food and drink available?

You can purchase food and drinks from our public bars and food tents. We will be bringing our own picnic stuff also, so feel free to bring your own stuff too.

What do I need to bring?

This is just a guide for what to bring along – bring as little or as much as you like :)

• picnic rug
• sunscreen
• sunglasses
• a plastic bag for your rubbish
• an umbrella/raincoat if the weather looks like taking a turn for the worst
• a picnic if you’re planning on self-catering – including any BYO alcohol that you may like

Anything else?

Have fun!!

We are currently in front of the western facing screen (closest to Hospital Rd) about 45° to the left of the projection booth. Try calling if you can't find us!
