DSLR and Lighting - Workshop for Teens (school holiday)

School Holiday!
Regular price January 12-20 is $149

Teenage Photographers - Join us for a fun day, full of learning photography and practicing!

We'll start with our basic DSLR workshop to make sure you have a handle on shooting in the manual setting. We'll practice in around the studio.

Lunch break at the studio
Lunch is included - It's Mexican from La Pinata Restaurant. if you have special dietary needs, or would like to bring your own lunch, that's fine. Also, bring snacks if you like.

Basic Studio Lighting - You'll learn THE EASY way how to photograph using studio lights. You will love Peggy's nontechnical way of explaining things! We'll practice with a real model at the studio.

Then it's a basic Flash class - we'll learn about on camera flash and off camera speedlights. Don't worry if you don't have one, we can share. We'll head over the beach for sunset portraits with a model. You'll go home from there about 6:15 p.m. Bring bug spray and quarters for the meter if you don't have a Collier County beach sticker.

Bring:
Your DSLR camera with a fully charged battery
Speedlight if you have one
extra batteries
Tripod if you have one (although we may not use it, it's nice to have just in case)

If you don't have a DSLR, you can rent one for a couple days. I recommend either a Canon Rebel (any type) or a Nikon D5000 or Nikon D3100. www.borrowlenses.com has a good reputation and good prices. Plan ahead!

Hi Lissette, This workshop is designed for teens - although teens are welcome at any of our classes. We do hold the DSLR and the Sunset parts of the workshop every month (Jan 20 and 31) and we have an intensive studio lighting workshop coming up in March. Join us!!

Peggy what's your age group for this class? Do you have a minimum age? My daughter is in 6th grade (12) and would love something like this but if you were looking for older kids in HS ??? let me know.. LeeAnn

Hi LeeAnn, I think 12 would be okay as long as she is perfect in every way. No pressure. LOL!
