Post GDC Shakedown

So we started the meetup with a great social event and now it's time to get down to business. Chris & I are busy prepping for GDC, but have decided to structure our next meetup around the Unity-related information we gather from the Game Developer's Conference in San Francisco and bring it back to any of you that aren't able to make it down. Here are some topics we'll be discussing: What's on the horizon for Unity Technologies? (rumors vs. confirmed future plans) What major upgrades are Unity Developers using the most? How are they making dev's lives easier? (essentially, what aren't you using that you should be?) What new projects are the Unity Games Vancity members working on? Would you like us to investigate something specific? Leave us a comment and we'll do our best! Cheers for now, Dana & Chris

**** DEAR UNITY MEMBERS, WE WILL NOT BE RECEIVING THE REELS FROM UNITY'S PRESENTATIONS UNTIL THE END OF THE WEEK, SO THE MEETUP HAS BEEN RESCHEDULED UNTIL MARCH 19, 2011**********

Hi Gloria, if you're worried about safety, someone can probably give you a ride home or walk with you, depending on how far away you live.

Hi Dana and Chris! Thanks for organizing the event, it was fantastic to meet other Unity 3D developers in Vancouver, and the hors d'oeuvres were delicious! I'd be happy to give a small donation for future events, so bring out that donation box! Looking forward to the next meetup!

Really informative, helped to provide a better insight on what publishers are looking for and what questions they might ask.

Could have been longer! Met some great contacts, will probably meet more next time around. Learned something new about Dana's and Chris' experience at GDC in San Francisco dealing with publishers, developers, and the Unity guys.

*** SORRY FOR BEING A CONFUSING PERSON*** MONDAY does not equal WEDNESDAY. THE MEETUP IS NEXT MONDAY, March 19th (venue and my own confusion). We confirmed the venue at Revel Room in Gastown, Looking forward to seeing you all there!

Hi Chris & Dana...just want to confirm if the date is March 21 (as Meetup says) or March 19 (as you wrote in the description). Thanks!

Well, Vancity is more like "Credit Union" then "Vancouver" ;)

Joachim, "Unity Games Vancity" is referring to the Vancouver Unity Group - this group. 'Vancity' is a nickname for "Vancouver" :)
