A sanctuary of conversation humbly, patiently and authentically exploring what it means to be the body of Christ in the emerging, post-modern world of today. Questions, doubts and the mystery of God are all welcome!
Recently, in regards to this group, I was asked, "How do you define Christian?" What a great question! This is exactly what we are asking ourselves and each other, along with many more ...
Who was Jesus? What is the significance of his life, his death and
his resurrection? What does it mean to be a Christian? What
beliefs does it require, what actions does it require?
We are a diverse group with people from a Catholic background,
Orthodox background, various strands of Baptist, Pentecostal
Holiness, etc ... even those with no spiritual background at
all. Some are in church, some are not. At the core, we all
believe that there must be more to God and this life in Christ than
what we have traditionally been taught and we are committed
to learning together in love and grace.
Our desire is to honor the questions, the doubts and the
mystery that each person brings and allow the conversation to
tackle all the stuff that we may not have felt comfortable
asking in our Christian circles before. We trust that God will
lead us in truth and we try very hard to recognize that what we
are hearing is a person's journey, not their destination. We
are all processing together.
