The UHL One Year Anniversary Visioning Meeting/Potluck

Hi everyone. It's hard to believe, but the UHL is nearing its one year anniversary. During the last year we've grown from a small handful of people into a league that's 743 members strong. We've organized and hosted numerous workshops on topics ranging from urban permaculture to building raised beds with lasagna mulching, from making vermicomposting bins to making kombucha and wine, from baking bread to tapping maple trees, and more. We've hosted multiple potlucks and collaborated with a whole bunch of wonderful nonprofits and community groups. And there's lots more on the horizon (including the launch of the Urban Homesteaders' League Market Stand--more info on that coming soon...).

The group began last June with a visioning meeting/potluck and it seems appropriate to mark the one year anniversary with another one--one where we can dream up new ways to make the group even better and more exciting. One key area I would like to address is organizational leadership. It's been a ton of fun and a great learning experience running the group, but I think that the group would be even stronger if we shifted to a more collaborative and cooperative leadership model. I look forward to talking about this and other exciting possibilities at the gathering!

I've set up a doodle to choose a date for the visioning meeting/potluck. I'll choose the date in a couple of weeks based on when the most people can attend. Check it out here:

Let's make the UHL the best that it can be! Happy Homesteading!

all the best,
