Biltmore Village Dickens Festival

Historic Biltmore Village transforms itself into a quaint Victorian village. There's entertainment for every age and interest. The main stage will be filled continuously with musicians, choral groups, singers, dancers, and Montford Park Players. This year the Festival will feature more than 300 performers who, after their stage segments, will rove throughout the Village entertaining on the streets and in the shops and restaurants. Friday and Saturday evenings will feature main stage concerts for the entire family.

And when dusk turns into evening, the more than 250,000 white lights outlining the historic Village buildings will combine with the streetlights to enhance the ambiance. Shops will stay open both evenings until 7pm with many of the shopkeepers dressed in Victorian-era garb. In addition, there’ll be horse-drawn rides through the tree-lined Village streets all day Saturday and Sunday. Chestnuts roasted on an open fire by chestnut roaster Sakshi Gentenbein will be available next to the main stage.

The Village will be decked out with Fraser fir holiday wreaths on each streetlight, on the entrance doors to the shops and at other special locations throughout the Village.

It didn't feel very Christmasy with the band singing John Denver and Waylon, but I'm happy we went. I wish we had seen Carolers and more than one Dickens character.

I had expected more Dickens characters and a bit more Christmas festivities.
I do however appreciate the meet up as I never would have done on my own:)

Meeting outside NMG, or in the downstairs "lobby" inside the front door?

Hi Beth- I am thrilled to see such a huge response for this festival. Before being specific I wanted to see the number of RSVPs. Outside the door is a bench for about 5. Since we have over 15 now, we'll meet just inside the front door in the "garden" area with furniture. Thanks for asking. By the way, members? NMG stays open until 8pm so we can swing back through before leaving the Village if you want.

Hi Therese- It's a Holiday Street Fair, so unless you buy food, drinks, or souvenirs, there is no cost.

Of course the horse drawn carriage probably comes with a charge.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
