UX Career Panel and Portfolio Review

Details

Come and join us for two-part UX career event on the same night!

Part I: UX Career Panel (6:15pm - 7pm):

Are you interested in the UX field but don't know where to start? Want to transition into UX design but don't know what design tools or skills you may need? Are you a psychologist or social scientist who is interested in conducting industry UX research? What types of career experiences really help when designing for e-commerce? What does consulting work at a small design agency look like? How can you maximize your relationship with a UX recruiter? How can you move into UX management?

Our distinguished UX panelists will share their experiences and offer suggestions so that you can move in the right direction. This will be run in a Q/A style so everyone gets a chance to participate.

Panelists:

• Ona Anicello (Vice President, UX Research Lead, JP Morgan Chase)

• Jennifer Ursich - (Senior UX Researcher, AT&T)

• David Phillips (Sr. UX Design Lead, Uptop)

Part II: Portfolio Review (7:15pm - 8pm):

After a short break, we will reassemble into small groups for 1-1 review of portfolios, resumes, and cover letters with a UX recruiter and/or a UX practitioner.

Registration for this portfolio service will begin at 7pm. This review is on a first come, first served basis. There will be no reservations and only those who joined the Meetup may register. Reviews will be brief (just like a potential hiring manager) but detailed.

For the best feedback and review, we strongly advise that you take time to work on these items beforehand. Be sure to being extra hard copies of any digital materials.
