Learn sketching techniques from two senior UX Designers to bring your ideas to life. We hope this fun, interactive session gives you practical tools to improve your skillset for work the next day.

Instructors:

Itinerary:

• 5:30-6pm: Registration and Networking (Food/Beverages)

• 6-6:15pm: Announcements

• 6:15-7:15pm: Matt Hulbert and Chris McQuistin discuss and review sketching patterns & techniques to express their messages and views on design sketching with brief Q/A

• 7:15-7:30pm: Break into groups and assignments

• 7:30-8:30pm: Sketching exercises, supervised and reviewed by our two UX Designers, for groups of 2-5 participants. Practice sketching activities. We will be practicing free hand on whiteboards and paper.

• 8:30-9pm: Wrap-up

Sketching Topics:

Chris will focus on client-relation sketching, when you are at client's office or on-site: "How do you sketch out experiences that balance the client's needs with your own ideas and design experience?"

Matt will focus on right after the client meeting, when you need to take those initial ideas and then convert into a designed artifact: "How do you sketch for yourself to flesh out your best initial design?"

Event Information:

This is the first of three sketching workshops planned, so if you can't make this one, there will be two more in the series. These workshops are not in order.

Parking is available around the event (35th/36th streets).

Evening parking ($5) is available just south of the Building. Go South on Troll Ave, down the ramp and make a right into the U-Park lot. List of Fremont Parking (http://www.u-parksystem.com/locations/default.asp#fremont_seattle)

Light sandwiches, Snacks, Beer, and Wine will be provided

Designer pens and sketching papers provided, but feel free to bring your own!
