Welcome to the Virginia Paddling Meetup!!!!
As you know the Virginia Paddling Meetup is all about paddling great waterways, however we are so much more than just a paddling club! Our organization is about all types of paddling from flat-water rivers to estuaries and coastal areas to raging whitewater river rafting trips. If there is water you will find us there! In addition to our water based events which encompass the novice to advanced levels we are also reaching out to other venues such as social and outdoor related events. Some of our recent events include a week in the Florida Keys, adventure films and lectures, museums, whale watching, and even hiking and backpacking along Virginia’s rivers.
Virginia Paddlers is NOT to be confused with an organization of tour guides, outfitters or professional instructors but we are a group of recreational paddlers and common adventurers who thrive upon the water. As a group of recreational paddlers we have some of the best organizers who are not only friendly and willing to offer a hand but they are extremely knowledgeable and as such they are among our group’s best resource. As you will soon discover we have some who prefer the shorter paddles (under 5 miles), we have those who prefer lakes and other flat-water areas, we have those who enjoy estuaries and longer (15 to 20 mile) coastal paddle trips and we have those who prefer the weekend and week long excursions, so there truly is something for everyone.
