Rather than a formal presentation, we'll have an informal gathering with discussion around Domain Driven Design. Julie will bring paper, marker and a small whiteboard. The focus will be to help newbies grok the basic concepts of DDD from the interaction wtih the domain experts (aka clients), to breaking up the domain in to sub-domains (aka bounded contexts) and some of the implementation details (aka entities, value objects, aggregates, roots & the infamous "anemic domain model").
Because of Julie's data-first background, she is especially keen to help other historically data-first developers be aware of DDD.
Looking forward to learning from others who've also been working with (or learning about) DDD!
It's a nice day. We'll meet at Breakwaters, starting at 6 (or earlier!). Try to gather some tables for a group of perhaps 10-15?
