Friday, February 10th or Saturday, February 11th - IT Virtuaization Bootcamp - 6 hours of training on virtualization in a fun learning environment - you will compete in 2 to 3 person teams against other teams to see which team can get the highest score on a set of problems and win a prize for the team, all the time learning as you go.

This is two separate one day sessions with the same content. Registration and other event details will come soon. Please note that there is a $25 registration fee payable in advance to secure a place [payment details to come]. The fee is necessary to recover the costs of staging the event. Any profit will go towards funding future VANTUG events. So by coming out you will not only be helping yourselves [great training for $25] but VANTUG also.

So put these dates in your diary. VANTUG hasn't offered anything like this before and we are excited about the opportunity with help from MS. MS will lead the events on each of the days. However, we need to provide 2 to 3 proctors for each of the days to assist people. Please contact me if you are able and willing to assist stating which day(s) you are available. Again, by acting as a proctor you will be helping VANTUG since it would be difficult to stage a successful event without that help.

· The goal of the event is to deliver hands-on technical training on the Microsoft platforms to Canadian IT Professionals who are interested in understanding how to create a highly-available virtualization environment on Hyper-V and Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1.

· No experience with Hyper-V or clustering is necessary to attend this event but experience with administering Windows Server 2008 R2, Active Directory and storage at a fundamental level is assumed.

Cheers
