Killarney Secondary Students Linux/FOSS Variety Talks

This month Killarny Secondary IT students will be talking about a variety of topics on Linux and FOSS. We will be treated to 7-9 presentations on:

• Securing our new user: We will be showing ways on how you can create a new user and making it secure for you to use.

• Single Board Computers and Linux: An overview of various single board computers currently on the market and what their capabilities are along with what distros can be ran on them.

• Setting up ZFS on a consumer Linux machine via Ubuntu 16.04 Xenial

• SAN/NAS storage and setup: An overview of the types of storage management on Linux and how to setup one or two of them

• DRM: Introduction to DRM and the negative effects of it in regards to Linux

• Hacking School Computers using Bootable Linux Drives: Using a live Ubuntu USB drive with persistent storage to overcome user permissions and possibly set up an admin account on school computers.

• Streaming on multiple computers using Linux: To create a stream that uses multiple PC’s without using a capture card.

• Hacking school’s wifi!
