January Indie Meetup

Happy New Year!

It's time for another meetup to discuss our plans for 2012.

Confirmed Speakers:

- Jason Bailey, East Side Games.

- Ryan Vandendyck, Eden Industries

- Mark Baxter, Vivity Labs

We are still seeking speakers more for this meetup, so please let us know if you have a topic that you think will hit the spot, thanks!

- Doors open at 6:30pm.
- Speeches start at 7:00pm.
- Networking begins around 7:30pm

Bring your games to the meetup! It's a great place to get feedback so bring along your laptop or mobile device and show off your hard work.

Please try to turn up and grab a name tag before the speeches start at 7pm so that you don't disturb the speakers mid-flow. Many thanks for your consideration!

Also, if you sign up but can't make it, please remember to change your RSVP to No so that people on the waiting list can get in, thanks!

See you at the meetup!

First time attending. Saw some amazing games. Met some amazing and talented people. I'm glad I could share what the BCIT Games Development program is with those who were interested.

It was great fun being able to give a presentation on my life as a double developer and the making of Waveform! The other speakers were awesome as always, and the night was a blast. It's always so beneficial having people test out Waveform for me, so thanks to everyone that played!

Everything about it was awesome, I am rating it 4/5 instead of 5/5 because I would love to hear more speakers, or have speakers (such as the last one) speak a little longer or field questions from the audience.

Aside: The speaker from Zynga/EastSide was a t-bag

Great speakers. Short and punchy all of them. Leading with Bailey was good to stir the pot a bit, then ending with Mark on a more thoughtful note. Good lineup that also worked well as a group. Jake is always a great MC - polite and complimentary to all but also funny.

This was my first time attending, and I was very impressed by how organized it was, the speakers, and the networking & learning opportunities!

It was a fun experience. Meeting other people and getting to know more about the indie scene.
