PhoneGap Meetup: Hockey Community + PG talk

We will have two great talks at our next PhoneGap meetup.

1) The first talk will be done by Fil Maj from the PhoneGap Team. He will be presenting on Medic. Medic allows the PG team to do continuous integration testing after every commit to the project. He will be demoing it and showing it live on our very own device wall.

2) Our second talk will be done by the Hockey Community team including Amrit Kahlon (Software Engineer) and Alex Toul (Co-Founder). They will be doing a walkthrough of their two year journey of Hockey Community going mobile. This includes the steps they took to make their site responsive and barriers they faced making their mobile applications.

As always, beer + water will be provided. Please only RSVP if you are 100% sure you will make it. Seating is limited.

Organizers will be heading to a local bar after the event for drinks, food, networking and Canucks hockey.

We plan on doing a meetup once every other month this year. We will interchange between this presenter style format and a hack style format. Keep your eyes open for upcoming meetups for more details.

The main entrance is on 23 West Pender, near the Chinatown Millenium Gate. If the parking lot gate is closed, please buzz #1800 at the parking lot gate. Buzz #1800 again at the building entrance. We're in Suite 180.

A run through contributed plugins might be interesting to see some of the extra functionality that can be tapped into. Or if there are any plugins needing to be made or maintained.

I love your suggestion Upkar! This is why I mentioned alternating between doing a hack style meetup every other month instead of the present style. We need to setup the room differently for that type of event and probably limit the attendees to 20.

Possibly have everybody setup before coming to the meeting so that we don't spend time trouble shooting. Maybe a different meeting for this kind of thing :)

How does everyone feel about a mini dev session instead of talk only? So people who want to follow along can learn by doing.

Feel free to comment here with suggestions on what level of talk you are hoping for.
