Urban Decay, Grunge and Grafitti...Strathcona, Central Pacific Station & Beyond
Details
One of our newer members took a look through the list of our past meet-ups and commented on all the cool places we have been and asked if we could revisit some of them...I took a look in the archives and can't believe that we did this photo-walk almost two years ago! At that time we had about 700 members and now we have close to 2700!..... it was a great photo-walk then and I agree........it's time for a return visit!
This photo-walk will take us through the southwest section of Strathcona, Vancouver's oldest residential neighbourhood and on into the area surrounding the (CNR) Pacific Central Train Station at Main and Terminal and then across the street into what has to be one of the last remaining pockets of urban decay in the proximity of the downtown area...the Western Avenue Industrial area. It spans for almost 4 blocks....and still has many business operating out of it...with all the new development surrounding the area , it is only a matter of time before it will be demolished.
