Good film but a couple of things I'd have tweaked. For one, the film introduces mindfulness but some audience members may leave thinking they know what it is, as a concept. The invitation to take it further could have been more explicit. Also, the film spoke of not trying, then brought up control several times - a form of trying. A true observer is not trying to control anything. It is simply observing what is here. But as a general introduction, I enjoyed the format.

It's a difficult concept to nail down conceptually. I think the film could definitely have focused more on the direct practice of meditation. I hope it inspired some people to dig deeper and build their own practice.

Also - it was great to see an almost full house in a large theatre.

I need to see this as part of my healing, as mindfullness is part of DBT.

Is there a cost for this?

Mindfulness is an excellent approach to counteract our hyper culture and become more self-aware. However, that awareness requires a clarity of consciousness itself. Otherwise "mindfulness" is just another concept or mood. This is the role of correct meditation - to culture clarity of consciousness so mindfulness is effective. They are partners.

    Looking forward to the film.

Great David! I couldn't agree more. Without the formal practice of meditation to train our mindfulness, it can become just another "feel good" buzzword.
