Wisewords

Melissa Kwan is at it again!  Wisewords is a great resource that shares local stories from startup CEOs with the rest of the community.  The first couple videos are already up and getting great reviews.

Check this out if you are looking for insights from the paths of successful tech founders.  As always, please provide any feedback you can to help make this product even better for the local community!

Web Designer Role at the City of Surrey

Please see the note from the folks at the City of Surrey below:

You’re a web explorer of the highest order spending more time online than off. When you look at a webpage you know instantly what works and why. In fact, you often feel the urge to go one step further and change what doesn’t.  You love Twitter and Facebook and wouldn’t you know it, you were one of the chosen few who was invited to Google+ during the first rollout.

You know your way around Photoshop, HTML and CSS but wouldn’t consider dabbling in script of any kind without some help from your friends copy and paste.

You are passionate about colours and content, and all those things in between that help to make websites look and feel their best.

You are excited about the possibilities Social Media presents to encourage open and honest lines of communication between organizations and individuals.

Sound familiar?

At the City of Surrey, we are looking to make significant changes in the world of online communications.  We have recently redeveloped our website but not to worry, we are not planning to stop there. We are continuing to improve our engagement online through social media channels and enhanced online services.  We are a small Web and New Media team that is looking to expand, and we need your help to as we aim to improving the quality of the online experience for people who live, work and play in our city.

Some might call you a “Web Designer” or a “Web Interface Developer”, our job posting would have you called “Media Designer”, but we just want to call you a part of our team.  If you are excited about the possibilities, apply today.
