Vegan Arizona is dedicated to reducing animal suffering by promoting vegan diets!
Our activities and events are based on promoting veganism. I think leafleting is among the most effective outreach activities, and since it’s so easy that is our focus. We also do vegan food-giveaways and tabling. We model our outreach from Vegan Outreach and Mercy for Animals. Please take a look at those groups, and if you have new ideas for outreach, please share them!
The popularity of veganism goes hand-in-hand with the availability of good vegan options in restaurants and grocery stores. We are creating online and print vegetarian guides (at VegPhoenix.com) and in 2010 want to start working with restaurants and grocery stores to improve vegan options. We have very few meetings or social events since our focus is on promoting veganism.
You don't have to be vegan to join, but you should be interested in moving along that path and encouraging others to as well.
Please read 'The Animal Activist's Handbook' by Matt Ball and Bruce Friedrich. It’s an easy read and covers the basics of why and how to do vegan outreach. We look forward to hearing from you!
