3rd Annual Fletcher Canyon Top Down hike

Details
http://photos2.meetupstatic.com/photos/event/b/b/f/9/event_36828121.jpegThis is another Canyon top down hike. But, its not in Zion nor Havasupai. Its a Fretcher Canyon. I believe many hikers have been to Fletcher Canyon. But, most of them hike from bottom for couple of miles to hit the big boulder choking the canyon. The canyon goes another mile and cross the North Loop Trail near the Trail Canyon Junction. We will hike up the Trail Canyon then hike down the Fletcher Canyon from the top.
The main purpose of this trip is hike down the 3.5 mile dry canyon. To get to the top of the canyon, we will hike up the Trail Canyon. Hiking the top part of Fletcher Canyon has some class 2 and couple of easy class 3 scramble spots. Also, few bushy part and crossing the creek. Remember....This is an off trail hike.
I recommend this hike for intermediate hikers.
Bring lots of water, snacks, cap/hat, sunglasses and sunscreen. We may be encountered by very shallow (only a inch or two) Water. We may across it or walk on it for several times. If you don't want be get wet, I recommend waterproof boots. Trekking poles are helpful, if you have one. Our route is little bit brushy. I recommend to wear long pants if you don't want your leg got scratched.
We will hike moderate pace and pause occasionally as a group to rest and to let everyone catch up. Its a beautiful canyon to spend a few hours. We will have lunch at somewhere in the middle of the canyon. Its will takes about 4 - 5 hours to complete the hike.
Let's meet at Cetennial Hills RTC Park and Ride LOT 1 near the building. We'll leave few cars at Fletcher Canyon Trail head (Thats our trail end). Then drive up to Trail Canyon Trail head. (Thats our trail head) Plan to carpool and riders should chip in $5-$6 for gas.
