http://photos2.meetupstatic.com/photos/event/5/e/f/8/event_68064312.jpegSummerlin Peak is not a famous peak, but you can see this peak from anywhere in Las Vegas. If you live in Summerlin Area, you can see it very clearly. Its located on west side of 215 Freeway in between Lake Mead Blvd. and Cheyenne Ave.

There is no trail on this hike. We will hike dry wash for first 1.3 miles then start climbing steep hill. Its all class 2 scramble but very steep. We will gain 1,600 ft of elevation in 0.7 miles. There are no major exposure but couple of minor one. Its about 5 miles round trip and total of 2,300 ft elevation gain. Its little bit harder than Turtlehead Peak Hike.

Sorry, but this is NOT a beginner's hike. We will hike moderate pace. But if you can't keep up with group pace or give up on the way up, I will pick you up on the way down.

Bring lots of water, food/snacks, cap/hat, sunglass, sunscreen, light jacket, rain gear(poncho) and gloves.

Let's meet at Starbucks @ I-215 free way & Cheyeann Ave. at 10:00AM. (Its NOT I-95 @ Cheyeann. We meet at almost west end of Cheyeann Ave.

No Kids, No Dogs, No Frogs, No hikers with fear of heights please!

If you want to bring a guest, please let me know your guests hiking ability or I won't allow them. (for their safety is the reason)
