As the name suggests, Vegunks is a group of ethical vegan and vegetarian climbers/mountaineers, created for the purpose of organizing daytrips to the Gunks (and possibly other areas).  ALL levels and abilities are welcome, including folks who had never climbed before.  The point here is not to climb 5.12, but rather to create a community of compassionate, easy-going climbers, make new, like-minded friends, and have fun!  If the group shows interest, we may also plan extended mountaineering trips.
