Drumming Circle in The Park

Our first meetup location has officially been determined! Hopefully the weather will cooperate but there's a pavilion at the park should we need it. That being said: THIS IS A RAIN OR SHINE EVENT FOLKS :). For those of you arriving drumless, no problem: myself  and  some of our members are bringing extras. Though you may want to sit on the ground, I strongly recommend you bring a portable chair in case the Canada geese have left their mark everywhere at Lowville Park. :) I'm looking forward to meeting y'all and although I am organizing this event,  once our circle is formed, I'm going to ask that our more experienced drummers help guide us along our musical journey!

Good morning Tessa. I've actually asked myself the same question. I guess my best answer is "when we've had enough or when the participants look bored" ;).... Somewhere between an hour and two ???

Good morning. How long do you anticipate this meet to be?

Lowville does have a covered area at the back of the park. It's a bit of a walk to lug drums from the parking lot & can be tough spot to find, but we've held a number of drum circles there & it's free to get in.

Hi everyone! I just rsvp'd to attend this meet. It's been months, more than I can remember, since I've touched my drum :( I'm now in the processing of trying to find a bag to carry it in. I haven't been to Lowville park, but that location would be convenient for me. I'll be coming from Hamilton. Look forward to meeting you all on the 28th!

Though kelso is beautiful, there is an admission charge to enter the park. Lowville park in North Burlington on Guelph line Is a beautiful place and apparently it has a covered area should we have the need. I'll check it out tomorrow.

Don't worry Gail, I have some extras as well as other percussion instruments. There will be enough to go around.

I didn't know we had to bring our own drums? I do not own a drum. I can ask around, however if I cannot get one I will not be able to make it.

What about Kelso? Does it have a pavillion? Lions Park and Victoria park have them.

I think a public park would be wonderful! New to the area so not sure of locations!

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
