Getting your child out the door when you need to be somewhere on time is a huge challenge for many parents. I was reminded of this issue just this week as children returned to school! For me, it never seems to be as easy as the books say.

Join Colleen as she shares her own stories, including what's worked well and what hasn't worked so well, and a few tips from some of the experts.

The following are possible discussion questions (but please bring your own if you wish):

• What strategies can we use to minimize the frustration and resistance, and preserve our connection with our children?

• What practical strategies are most helpful for supporting our children's success?

• How can we tell when they are ready to be more independent getting themselves out the door?

• And how do we support them to tap into their inner motivation and

capability?

• How do we move toward influencing them and away from using authoritative power over them?

Bring your own stories, challenges and ideas for the group discussion about how we can bring mindfulness to this situation in everyday life, and foster learning and success for our children and ourselves.

**Note: This meetup will normally be held on the first Wednesday of the month, but is changed to the second Wednesday of October for this meeting only.
