Mid Week Motivator

We'll decide where to go when we meet. This will be held every Wednesday as long as there is any interest and the weather isn't too horrible. I'll send out an email by 10 am of the ride day if there is any change of plans. Count on at least 2 hours, perhaps as many as 4 or 5 in the summer, again depending on the weather and how we feel.

CHANGE TO PROCEDURES! Victoria Cycling Adventures Club (VCAC) has been created as an umbrella society for this meetup group in order that we be able to provide you with ride insurance. You are covered by this insurance on your first ride with us, but for subsequent rides, you must join the VCAC. The annual fee is $5, payable at your next ride. Visit the new VCAC website to find out all about it and to become a member: VCAC.net

Standard Stuff. PLEASE VISIT THE LINKS!

Before attending a ride with Victoria Cycling Adventures please complete the general Cycling Safety Quiz and the Meetup Procedures Quiz.

By attending this ride, I declare that I have read, understood and agree to the contents of Victoria Cycling Adventures Waiver. If this is your first ride with us, please print, sign and bring with you a copy of the Waiver.

In case of bad weather, we will reschedule this ride and substitute an Embrace The Rain Ride in its place. Hey - we live in a rain forest, its gonna rain! Let's learn to enjoy it. This will be a short ride in town with a stop to warm up and dry out.

We had a great ride on a beautiful summer-like day. The group split into two, "advanced" and "fun" at Atkins Station. The fun group did the loop around Esquimalt Lagoon and returned via View Royal and a detour to the new Craigflower bridge.

Got to give praise where it is due - the new bridge gives superb access to pedestrians and cyclists: separated bike and pedestrian lanes in both directions. And the pedestrian lane is huge to give lots of room to people fishing from the bridge or just hanging out. Doing it right! Pedestrians and cyclists are not just an afterthought, as in times past, but a primary consideration.

Thanks to everyone who came and it was good to see three new faces.

So all I can say is that all my fears over clip pedals were waaayyyy overblown...super easy to use at the lightest tension settings......thanks for a great ride all, nice to see three new faces out.

Great day for a ride! Can't make this one as I'm readying for a sail tomorrow. Thanks for organizing this Simon.

Public Disclosure Statement - first ride with clip on pedals, for your own safety I recommend maintaining a five foot buffer zone on all sides of me, objects within the stated danger zone may be subject to large falling objects.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
