“The Tapping Phenomenon” - How to use Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)
- The story behind EFT
- Simple ways to do EFT at home
Emotional Freedom Technique – EFT – or “Tapping” is a way to balance energy flows in the body by tapping on the energy meridians. It has been found to have immediate and lasting effect with a release of symptoms for issues such as anxiety, cravings, grief, phobia, relief of trauma and PTSD, insomnia and pain relief. The technique involves tapping specific points on your head and chest with your fingertips while voicing an emotional truth, together with an affirmation. The combination of tapping the energy meridians and voicing positive affirmations works to clear an emotional block from your body’s bioenergy system, thus restoring the mind and body’s balance.
Balanced emotional health is critical for physical health and well-being. No matter how devoted we are to a proper diet and lifestyle, we’re unlikely to achieve optimal health if emotional barriers stand in the way. EFT was developed in the 1990s by Gary Craig, a Stanford engineering graduate who pioneered this work, specializing in healing and self-improvement. In the last five years, this form of energy psychology has been widely used by professionals in Counseling and Healing practices. With a qualified therapist, some deep-seated issues can be raised and healed quickly and effectively, childhood patterns released.
It is also possible to use EFT on your own at home for day to day issues, and this simple technique is easy to learn.
Join Emotional Freedom Technique Practitioner Gillian Redwood at the Fernwood Community Centre on Friday, 13th June 2014, from 7:00 to 9:00. In this session Gillian will explain the history of the technique, some ways to understand how it works efficiently, plus a demonstration and hands-on exercises to practice at home.
There will be an opportunity to work in pairs, while mirroring the technique and learning a simple sequence of tapping points.
Gillian Redwood is a Visual Artist and following an inspirational workshop by EFT Trainer Fiona Smith in Wales UK, she went on to complete an Advanced EFT Training to become a qualified therapist. She now advises clients in informal, one to one sessions. Anyone wishing to follow up after this presentation can reach Gillian by email: [masked].
