European Union have had put a lot of money in semantic web focused research projects on the one hand, on the other, the big IT flagships in the US are driving the commercial integration of semantic technologies into their business concepts.
So the ongoing public debate conclude, that Europe is good in research and the US are good in making business out of it. And both live in their capsuled worlds: Academic in the EC and corporate in the US. But is this true?
