Thanks for the eye-opening demonstrations last night! I was so inspired that I went home and ordered a DK2. The estimated delivery date for new orders is August, so sounds like I better get my feet wet in Unity.

Great meeting everyone last night, looking forward to the next.

@Mark McCorkle: re: the "old" stuff - I agree! I was talking a lot about VR history as well, having been active in the industry during the 90's. Eric mentioned that it might be a good topic to cover at one of the upcoming meetups . . . now if I could just find my Liquid Image HMD and Flock of Birds . . .

Thank you to everyone who helped me out tonight and shared with me some really exciting, insightful, and innovative ideas about VR for my upcoming piece. I learned so much, and you were all so great. (Sorry to anyone I didn't get a chance to ambush.) Please feel free to stay in touch - [masked] - and I will definitely be at the next event.

This show is slated to air late May/early June (TBD) so if you're interested in hearing the finished product, shoot me an e-mail and I'll keep you posted.

So much cool stuff tonight. I mentioned to a few people tonight some REALLY old VR projects that might be worth looking into to see what they got right back when we first tried VR. Active Worlds (activeworlds.com) was the precursor to Second Life and Open Croquet (a VR world browser from early 2000 -- now is called OpenCobalt -- http://www.opencobalt.org/downloads) is a Squeak / smalltalk based VR environment running on the existing http web (like a more complete Janus browser, but without Oculus support). And if anyone has any trouble setting up Janus / Firebox, I've got some knowhow with Linux and QT and I'll trade my skills to set it up in exchange for some Rift time!

Hi everyone, tomorrow should be a lot of fun. Are we meeting outside the building or on Microsoft's floor? Really looking forward to this.

Microsoft is letting us use a room inside. Go to the Microsoft security desk and they will direct you to the proper place. See you tomorrow!

I'm a NY Comic Artist (previous 3D game artist) interested in creating an Oculus Rift Comic Book Platform. Interested in seeing what everyone has developed!
