Hey everyone,

The Virtual Reality Game Jam for Retro and Arcade gaming is only ten days away and we couldn’t be more excited. A couple of arrangements have been made, and we have a few things to announce…

We recently updated the website. Of note, we’ve added a schedule of the entire event.

As mentioned before, the event will be held at the Erasmus Centre for Entrepeneurship in Rotterdam. We will have a large, open space for presentations, a few offices for teams to work and brainstorm, and open tables for everyone to work.

Of course, we are also giving you plenty of opportunity for a bit of R&R between the coding. We will have a console ready, filled with numerous old arcade games, as well as a HTC Vive for inspiration.

We will provide you with a lunch and dinner on Saturday, and with lunch on Sunday, free of charge.

If you have an old console of your own, bring it along to share in on the fun.

A wiki will be available for all teams to share information, assets and track your progress.

We still have some spots left, so spread the word. Bring your friends. As mentioned on the site, we really want this event to be for enthusiasts, so no experience is required. There will be help on-site to point you in the right direction to start out with development. We will be more than happy to share our own experiences.

Please make sure that you have signed up on the meetup page and filled out the questionnaire. We need to estimate the distribution of skills so that functional teams can be formed.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to sleep on site, and we will close down around 2300 on Saturday and open up again on 0900 the next day.

We’re looking forward to meeting you all, and seeing what kind of projects you will develop.

With kind regards,

Ruben, Daan & Nick
