You too can do this - early rise at Bronte. 15 only.
Details
Yes you can take a pro-looking pre-sunrise tidal pool shot - if you are prepared to get up before the crack of dawn. On this day sunrise is smack at 7 am before we enter back into standard time in later weekends (for those of you who are braver souls, get there even earlier... 30 minutes pre-dawn may not be enough... I may do that)

Learn how to master this (pic of Bronte that Meetup mobile App or site does not show). Spend the early hours emulating the pic, and from the same skills, you can do great beach, sunrise, tidal pool shots and any shot with a body of water to your heart's content.
You will need:
• wide angle lens (prime is better than zoom, but whatever <20mm works)
• tripod
• dSLR
• cable release for long-ish exposures (try anything from 1/60 to 15 seconds - my guess of above sample is at least 5s)
• ND filter (to enable longer exposures)
• Circular polarising filter (to reduce reflection/ glare)
I am not sure about post-processing... start with the above. Though in my very limited experience with both ND and CPL filters, the supposedly 'neutral' ain't neutral no matter how high end they are... a tint ranging from turquoise to brown happens... something to do with filtering out different frequencies of light.
Anyway on the day, cloud cover or not, likely the lighting will get less interesting as the sun rapidly rises. Let's move around and shoot some more minus tripod till around 8 or 9 and then get into one of the Bronte Road cafes for breakfast.
