Note: We will be taking attendance so if you cannot make it please let us know in advance. We do this to be fair to other people who wanted to attend but were not able to sign up due to limited space. If you do not show up you will be waitlisted for other workshops in the future.

Have latest Gephi version installed http://gephi.org/

Some old Mac OS X version will need to enable Java 6 (see http://gephi.org/users/install-java-6-mac-os-x-leopard/ http://img1.meetupstatic.com/img/clear.gif)

Bring a mouse. Using Gephi with the trackpad is far from optimal

What is Gephi
Gephi is an open-source software for network visualization and analysis. It helps data analysts to intuitively reveal patterns and trends, highlight outliers and tells stories with their data. It uses a 3D render engine to display large graphs in real-time and to speed up the exploration. Gephi combines built-in functionalities and flexible architecture to:
explore analyze spatialize filter cluterize manipulate export all types of networks.
Gephi is based on a visualize-and-manipulate paradigm which allow any user to discover networks and data properties. Moreover, it is designed to follow the chain of a case study, from data file to nice printable maps.
