TVW 2014: Perseid Meteor Shower Watch
Details
Wait, what do meteors have to do with veganism? Nothing! Sometimes we just like to have fun! :) The Perseids are a prolific meteor shower, associated with the comet Swift-Tuttle. The stream of debris is called the Perseid cloud and stretches along the orbit of this comet. The cloud consists of particles ejected by the comet as it travels on its 133-year orbit. Most of the particles have been part of the cloud for around a thousand years. Stellar!
We will carpool as best we can because parking is limited. Plan to meet at Gateway transit Center by 8:30pm to work out rides. Event is free with $5 parking per vehicle. A flashlight with red light is recommended. Personal telescopes and binoculars are welcome.
