Announcing a new Meetup for Viva La Vegan PORTLAND - Metro! What:
Living Raw Theater: David Rainoshek and Victoria BoutenkoWhen:
February 16,[masked]:30 PM
We suddenly had a few seats for this event open up. If you are looking for an inspirational and informative evening about raw foods, check this out!
The fourth Living Raw Theater presentation will be a showing of two luminaries from the 2008 Rawkathon
at a home in SE Portland on Mt. Tabor. Living Raw Theater events are scheduled to be conducted within the living rooms of local folks, and serve as fundraisers for the Raw and Living Spirit Retreat
, a local gourmet raw community experience happening August 27-30 at Camp Adams in Molalla, OR. More information about the movie and the Retreat can be found below.
We will be showing two one-hour interviews, one with David Rainoshek
and the second with Victoria Boutenko
, and will have an hour afterward for discussion. Participation size is limited, due to the size of the living room.
As a fundraiser for the Raw and Living Spirit Retreat
, the event participation fee will be $8
, to be collected at the event. I'm not using Paypal for these events, as they charge a processing fee that could be better used by the Retreat. If that poses a problem, please contact me and we can work something out.
I will publish the address of the event to the confirmed event participants.
We're looking forward to seeing you on Monday, February 16th, and more events will be scheduled soon! If you would like to host a showing and discussion of Simply Raw
, any of the Rawkathon series, or other raw-related DVDs, please contact me! Your living room can't wait to get raw!
From the Rawkathon website (http://www.rawkathon.com/index-main.html):
, M.A., has been teaching about the opportunities that a nutrient-dense plant-based diet offers individuals and societies since 2003. He has taught over 100 classes on raw food preparation to adults and children (including public schools and home school groups); has taught the nutrition aspect of the 10-week Kitchen and Farming Apprenticeships at the Tree of Life Rejuvenation Center; and has coached thousands and thousands about Juice Feasting. His interview discusses why people fail on the raw and vegan diet and how you can succeed, his most influential mentors inside and outside of the raw food world, a paradigm for healthy living and a healthy mindset, and how juice feasting works and why you should consider using this tool for cleansing. Victoria Boutenko
is one of the foremost leaders of the raw food movement. Her book Green For Life
is a bestseller and has helped thousands and thousands of people transition into raw food. Her interview discusses the reasons why green smoothies may be the best way to transition to raw food and transform your health, how she conducts research and the importance of getting it right, her personal thoughts on the raw food diet, and the best way to stay raw."
The Raw and Living Spirit Retreat
is four days of gourmet food, international speakers, and vibrant community in the woods of Camp Adams at the base of Mt. Hood in Molalla, OR.
