I began this community because I love working with singers of all backgrounds and experience levels, so I thought it would be fun to organize a bunch of Open Mics and Live Band Karaoke events to get people in front of live audiences. The group grew, and people started asking if we'd be hosting any sorts of educational events, like classes or workshops. Things just grew from there. I love helping people become the singers they want to be, whether it's through actual classes / lessons, or just hanging out with them socially and encouraging them to step outside their comfort zones. So this group has been a total blast so far, and now that I have such great asst. organizers helping me run it, we're all excited to see where it goes next. (:
Obviously I'm advanced (or I'm dramatically overpaid at my regular teaching practice :). I started singing rock as a teen, began training with various teachers, which led me to singing jazz...and then went to college for music with an emphasis on classical voice. Most of my "go-to" work is still in the rock genre, but I actively write, perform, and record in a variety of styles.
There are tons...too many to list. Keep your eyes on your inboxes. ;)
For the time being, my main teaching site is http://VocalBrilliance.com , and the site for my free blog for singers is http://SingersBlog.com .

I've been a voice teacher for over 20-years and counting. As a singer, I love performing in a variety of styles, though I'm most at home singing rock and jazz. I'm also classically trained, so I have a soft spot for Italian arias and German lieder.
A brand new group, and a great way for singers learn about how to become better singers and performers. Also, a great way to get out of the shower and onto a stage. (:
