Lunchtime Lesson: How to Increase Your Online Security

Living in a digital world has huge advantages and is a necessity for most.  But with all of the recent security attacks and the mountain of accounts, usernames, and passwords we've collected just to maintain business as usual, it's high time we get serious about security.  coWORKer extraordinaire Barry Stump will lead a timely and useful talk about how internet security works, and best practices for protecting your personal accounts.

Feel free to bring a bag lunch.

I am planning to cover various options for staying secure online, including choosing reasonably secure passwords, password managers, two-factor authentication, and how to consider the security/convenience trade-offs.

I will give a hands-on demo of some of the techniques and software and am happy to cover any other aspect of online security or privacy that attendees desire to know.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
