Publisher Chris Gruener will describe the current trends and landscape of the book publishing industry, covering both traditional and self-publishing and everything in between, including the growing popularity of the "hybrid" publishing model.
He'll discuss different facets of publishing including:
• understanding your reason for publishing a book
• pros and cons of various methods of production and printing
• options and challenges when approaching sales, distribution, and marketing

Chris Gruener is the publisher of Cameron + Company (http://www.cameronbooks.com/), a boutique book publishing company based in Petaluma, California, currently celebrating its 50th Anniversary in 2014. Cameron + Co focuses on "books that need to be books," publishing photography, art, food/wine, and children's books. Gruener also runs Roundtree Press (http://www.roundtreepress.com/) which publishes general nonfiction and fiction books using a hybrid publishing model. Prior to Cameron + Co, Gruener worked in sales and marketing for literary agents, publishers, distributors and sales groups throughout the country.
