What type of writing do you currently enjoy? Poetry, journaling, fiction, non-fiction, travel, etc.

Fiction & non-fiction "cloaked" in fiction.... Don't all writers do that? The best writing is "Writing what you know" What is known as motivation, direction & characterization is based on the writers 'truth' or experiences & often of people or events that crossed the writers path..... We cloak these 'non-fiction' events in the invisibility of 'any resemblance to persons or events, alive or dead is purely coincidental'.

In what activities would you like to see the WRITE NOW group engage or what topics would you like to see addressed in our meetings?

I have yet to attend so I do not know what has been covered. The most pressing on my mind; in my life is to overcome the possible rejection letters. Also, I would like to explore the world of "saying goodbye" & finishing the book. How to overcome the dread of completing a book because of the final goodbye. You would be correct if you guessed that I have NOT completed a book yet!

Describe yourself and your values or things/issues that are important to you in three sentences or less.

God first, Family second & everything else next. I value friendships and relationships. To help when I can, accept help when I need to and if the time comes, recognize that some people are just visitors and NOT lifelong cast members of our lives. When it's time, be able to say goodbye and be thankful for the time spent.

My name is Melodie McFarland, I am New Orleans born, and a New Orleans woman I will always be. I moved to Dallas in 1993, when my husband was transferred here. While it may not be my "Home" I do like living here.
