===========================
In the spring of 2011 and 2012 , a pair of Red-tailed Hawks took up residency on the steeple of the United Methodist Church near the North Carolina State Capitol Building in Downtown Raleigh. They strategically positioned their nest between the church’s steeple and one of its columns making it quite impervious to adverse weather. Access to the nest is difficult from the ground as it is over 50 feet straight up and the best way to the nest is from the top, by air, making it well protected from predators.
The redtailed hawk pair successfully raised four new hawks in 2011. Will they be successful in 2012?
